Bubble Gum Lip Gloss

Bubble Gum Lip Gloss

Bubble Gum Lip gloss is a flashback to my first kiss, in the tipi at Bethany Hills Disciples of Christ church camp near Nashville, Tennessee. It’s amazing how powerful moments like this embed themselves in our memories and are awakened decades later by daily events. Checking out in the grocery line, a visit to the carousel, a walk on the beach.

Special thanks to my son Joel and his girlfriend Clara Miller for starring in this video. Thanks also to Tabitha at Tipi Among the Trees in Trenton, GA for rolling out the red carpet for us.

Lyrics

When I saw you in the checkout, at the Piggly Wiggly

and I helped you take your groceries, out to your Prius

When our fingertips touched, and your tiger eyes met my gaze

I was suddenly transported, back to my childhood days

When I kissed you in the teepee, at Bethany Hills

and you wore, bubble gum lip gloss

Well, the Coney Island Carousel kept turning around

You were galloping your stallion, I was walking my hound

When our fingertips touched, and your tiger eyes met my gaze

I was totally transported back to my childhood days

When I kissed you in the teepee, at Bethany Hills

and you wore, bubble gum lip gloss

If you see the ancient mariner, ask him something for me

Why do these watercolor memories wash into the sea?

At the Beachcomber Bungalows, you checked in at the desk

I was so surprised to see you, just being yourself

When our fingertips touched, and your tiger eyes met my gaze

I was suddenly transported back to my childhood days

When you kissed me in the teepee, at Bethany Hills

and you wore, bubble gum lip gloss

When I saw you in the checkout, at the Piggly Wiggly

and I helped you take your groceries, out to your Prius

When our fingertips touched, and your tiger eyes met my gaze

I was suddenly transported, back to my childhood days

When you kissed me in the teepee, at Bethany Hills

and you wore, bubble gum lip gloss

At the Beachcomber Bungalows, I checked in at the desk

I was so surprised to see you, just being yourself

When our fingertips touched, and your tiger eyes met my gaze

I was suddenly transported back to my childhood days

When I kissed you in the teepee, at Bethany Hills
