Journeys with Giovanni

I’ve always dabbled with poetry and songwriting, but it wasn’t until my 60th birthday that I first sang in public. I sang because I had a story to tell---the story of my friendship with a Colombian man named Giovanny, and his 3,000-mile journey to the US. I wrote a series of interrelated songs which became an album, and the album became the soundtrack for a film, Journey with Giovanny. We were able to tell this story so beautifully thanks to the creative collaboration of my friend and producer, Pedro Abriles. You can watch the film here.
